East Grinstead care home thanks local community for their support

A care home in East Grinstead has thanked those who have gone the extra mile to support residents throughout the coronavirus pandemic, from the members of the community to its dedicated team members.

Care UK’s Mill View, on Sunnyside Close, has expressed its gratitude for the consideration and generosity shown by the people of East Grinstead over the past couple of months.

From volunteering, to delivering messages and artwork to brighten everyone’s day, individuals and organisations have pulled together to support the older members of the community, and Care UK homes across the country have been overwhelmed by the kind gestures of local people.

Mill View was inundated with support, receiving thoughtful animal drawings from local children Charlie and Freddie, as well as rainbow-themed artworks and positive messages from Toybox Nursery and local pupils as part of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award programme.

Whether it’s baking for a resident’s birthday, keeping the morale up through creative activities, team members at Mill View have also been praised for their unwavering dedication and relentless efforts over the past few months.

Debbie Wheeler, home manager at Mill View, said: “We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported us over the past couple of months, whether that be through volunteering, sending tokens of appreciation, or creating beautiful drawings to display around the home.

“Every single thought, message and gesture has helped to raise the spirits of our fantastic team and has brightened the days of residents missing their families. It really has kept everyone going.

“On behalf of everyone at Mill View, thank you so much.”

Mill View has been designed to deliver the very best standards of care and to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives. The home provides full-time residential, nursing and specialist dementia care, as well as short-term respite. The home features state of the art facilities including a cinema, café and activity space.
