East Grinstead Rugby Football Club "EGRFC" was formed in 1929 by Brian Desmond. Since then EGRFC has an enviable history of successful rugby in Sussex and is an important and established part of the town's sport and community scene. The club has seen generations of local players representing it at all levels.
East Grinstead Rugby Football Club was incorporated as a Limited Company and registered in England in 2009 and is run by the Board of Directors for the members and many of the management committee are playing members of the club therefore ensuring the right focus is given to the way the club develops.
Today EGRFC has four senior men's teams, the 1st XV play in the national leagues, a veteran’s team and a thriving intermediate and junior sections for both boys and girls, providing rugby for under 7s to under 18s.

EGRFC is affiliated to R.F.U., S.R.F.U. and the R.F.U.W. and carries the insurances required by these bodies to allow competitive Rugby to be played at the club.
The highlight of the rugby calendar each year is the Club's Sunshine Sevens Tournament with more than 80 teams taking part from all parts of the Country.
This charity event which has been running continuously since 1957, attracts crowds in excess of 2000 people. This is not only a fun day for the whole family, but a unique opportunity for corporate entertaining and sponsorship.
