East Grinstead and District Lions Club

East Grinstead & District Lions are a friendly, enthusiastic group of volunteers who support the local community and others in need through fundraising events and community projects. This year, they are delighted to have been selected as one of Town Mayor, Stephanie Reeves’s chosen charities.

In May, the Lions organise the much-loved May Fair in the High Street. This is a main fundraiser as is the sale of Prize Advent calendars Christmas cards and raffle tickets during the lead up to Christmas.

The Lions also support many other local events taking place by providing refreshments such as at the Vintage Bus Day, East Court Live and the 10K Andy Ripley Memorial race. We also interact with local Primary Schools through the Lions Roar Competition and help with the Santa Sleigh rounds.

Funds raised are used to help in many ways; from funding the annual free Prostate Screening event in October, hosting the Senior Citizens’ Tea Party in the Spring and helping those experiencing fuel poverty through the Warm Over Winter project (WOW).

Every year East Grinstead Lions help many individuals, families, local charities, schools, the KSS Air ambulance but cannot do it without support from volunteers.

The Club meets at 7:30pm at the Dorset Arms on the first Monday of the month (unless a Bank Holiday). You’ll be made very welcome!
